Autonomy IT LLC d/b/a JB-AI Productions ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Paychunk mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

Email address
Display name (optional)
Authentication credentials (securely managed by Firebase Authentication)

Budget and Financial Data

To provide our budgeting services, we store:

Paycheck amounts and dates you enter
Budget categories and allocations you create
Transaction records you add manually or via receipt scanning
Receipt images you scan (stored in Firebase Storage, organized by year for your records)
Extracted transaction data from receipts and bank statements

Crowdsourced Merchant Data

When you confirm or correct a merchant category, we may collect an anonymized record of the merchant name and category vote. No personal information is attached. This data is used to improve automatic category suggestions for all users.

Device Information

We automatically collect:

Device type and model
Operating system version
App version
Unique device identifier (for analytics)

2. How We Use Your Information

Provide Services: Process your budget data, scan receipts, and display your financial information
AI Receipt Processing: We use Google Gemini AI to extract text and data from receipt images. Receipt images are processed but not stored by Google's AI service.
Improve the App: Analyze usage patterns to enhance features and fix bugs
Customer Support: Respond to your inquiries and provide assistance

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase services:

Firebase Authentication: Manages your login credentials securely
Cloud Firestore: Stores your budget and transaction data with encryption at rest
Firebase Storage: Stores receipt images you scan, organized by year for your records

Bank statement images are processed in memory for transaction extraction and are not stored on our servers. Only the extracted transactions are saved to your account.

All data is transmitted using industry-standard TLS encryption.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:

Service Providers: Google Firebase (hosting, authentication, storage), Google Gemini (receipt processing)
Legal Requirements: If required by law or to protect our rights

Website advertising (Google AdSense)

Our website (paychunk.com) displays ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or www.aboutads.info. The Paychunk app itself does not display ads.

Amazon Associates (affiliate links)

Paychunk participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program. Some links on our website go to Amazon, and we may earn a commission from qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you. Amazon may set cookies when you follow those links; Amazon's privacy notice applies on their site.

5. Your Privacy Choices

Access: View your data within the app at any time
Delete: Request deletion of your account and all associated data via the app settings or our data deletion page
Export: Premium users can export their data to CSV/PDF

6. Crashlytics, Analytics & AI Processing

Firebase Crashlytics

We use Firebase Crashlytics to monitor app stability. Crashlytics collects:

Crash reports and error logs
Device information (model, OS version)
App state at the time of a crash

Crash reports are retained for 90 days per Firebase default retention policies.

Firebase Analytics

We use Firebase Analytics to understand how users interact with the app. Analytics collects:

Session data (start time, duration)
Anonymized user ID
Device model and OS version
App version and build number
Locale and region
Screen views
Custom events (receipt scans, budget creation, transaction adds)

Analytics data is anonymized and retained for 14 months per Firebase default retention policies.

Google Gemini AI (Receipt & Statement Processing)

When you scan a receipt or import a bank statement, the image is sent to Google's Gemini AI servers for text extraction and data parsing. Google does not retain these images after processing is complete. The extracted data (merchant, date, items, total) is stored in your Paychunk account. Receipt images are also stored in Firebase Storage for your records; bank statement images are not stored.

7. California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the CCPA:

Right to Know: You can request what personal information we collect, use, and disclose about you.
Right to Delete: You can request deletion of your personal information. Use the in-app account deletion feature or email us at [email protected].
Right to Opt-Out: We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights.

8. Data Retention Policy

Active accounts: Your personal data is retained as long as your account remains active.
Account deletion: All personal data is deleted within 30 days of an account deletion request.
Backups: Removed within 90 days of account deletion.
Analytics data: Anonymized and retained per Firebase defaults (14 months).
Crash reports: Retained for 90 days.

9. Children's Privacy

Paychunk is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email.
