Our mission
Paychunk exists to make budgeting something you can actually stick with. Most people don't get paid once a month, so a monthly budget rarely matches real life — bills land, paychecks arrive on their own schedule, and money slips away in between. We built Paychunk around the way people are really paid: one paycheck at a time. When each check comes in, Paychunk helps you split it into the things that matter — needs, wants, and savings — before it disappears.
Why we built it
We were frustrated with budgeting apps that demand your bank login before you can do anything. Handing over read access to your entire financial life just to categorize spending felt like too much to ask — and it locks out anyone who isn't comfortable connecting their accounts. So we built the opposite: a budgeting app that works without ever linking your bank. You stay in control of your data, and you still get a clear, simple plan for every paycheck.
What Paychunk does
- Splits every paycheck into needs, wants, and savings so your money has a job the moment it arrives.
- Scans receipts with AI — snap a photo and Paychunk pulls out the details automatically, no manual entry.
- Works without bank linking — no account credentials, ever. Your financial data stays yours.
- Stays simple — it's a budgeting tool you can set up in minutes, not a spreadsheet you have to maintain.
Our approach to privacy
Privacy isn't an afterthought for us — it's the reason Paychunk works the way it does. We never link to your bank, we never sell your data, and we never share it with advertisers or third parties. You can delete your account and all of your data at any time, right from inside the app. If you'd like to know exactly what we collect and how it's handled, our Privacy Policy spells it out in plain language.
Who's behind Paychunk
Paychunk is built and maintained by JB-AI Productions, an independent app studio (a d/b/a of Autonomy IT LLC). We build focused, genuinely useful tools for everyday problems, with a strong bias toward privacy and simplicity. We're a small team, we read every support email, and we ship improvements based on what real users tell us. Alongside the app, we publish practical, no-nonsense budgeting guides on our blog — covering everything from splitting a biweekly paycheck to building your first emergency fund.
